For more than 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce in various roles, and I’ve been honored to serve as CEO since 2020. I’m passionate about supporting the businesses, organizations, and people who make Capitola and Soquel such vibrant places to live, work, and visit.

One of the things I love most about my role is building relationships with our local businesses and getting to know the people behind them. Every business has a story, and it’s a privilege to help champion their success, connect them with resources and one another, and celebrate the contributions they make to our local economy and quality of life. I’m also proud to serve on the Board of Directors for Leadership Santa Cruz County, where I enjoy supporting the development of future community leaders.

Whether I’m welcoming a new business, collaborating with community partners, or helping bring signature events like the Community Awards Gala, Capitola Art & Wine, the Capitola Village Halloween Parade, and Surfin’ Santa to life, I’m grateful to play a part in creating opportunities for people to connect. Being part of a vibrant, engaged community is what inspires me every day, and I’m proud to help showcase the unique character, creativity, and small-town spirit of Capitola and Soquel.

I’m a Los Gatos girl who moved to Capitola right after college. Before assuming the role of “Chambermaid“ at the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce 13 years ago, I spent 20 years with Pacific Publishing Company and another five with Recycle Paper Products in the greeting card division.

Joining the Chamber staff has been especially rewarding because I've reconnected with old friends, met so many wonderful new people and now help organize the events, such as the Capitola Art and Wine Festival, that keep our community vibrant. Family is at the heart of my life with six children and eleven grandchildren who continue to entertain me.  When not at work, you'll probably find me rustling up a lemon meringue pie, tending to my tropical garden and spoiling my two kitties, Suki and Lola.

Specializing in clean books, cash flow management and payroll services, Susan is passionate about supporting small business owners. Her offerings range from supporting and training local entrepreneurs who want to maintain their own books to providing full bookkeeping services so owners can focus on growing their core business.

As a proud member of the local business community, Susan has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from SJSU and actively volunteers to help regional startups. She has been a part of the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce team since 2019.

I have been in law enforcement for 19 years. I started as a community service officer and graduated from the police academy in 2005. During my tenure, I have been assigned to the detective unit, and county gang team, and worked as a field training officer. I was promoted to patrol sergeant in 2017 and moved into the detective sergeant position in 2020. I was promoted to Captain in 2021 overseeing operations and administration. Our agency went back to a two captain model in 2022 and I moved to being the administrative captain. My agency is small, therefore I am accustomed to filling many roles and being flexible. I have a strong skill set in investigations, community relations and strategic planning. In November 2024 I was selected for the Chief position. I am enthusiastic about this next chapter.

Born and raised in Watsonville, I have proudly called Santa Cruz home since 2020. I began my career with Bay Federal Credit Union in 2000 as a teller and, through dedication and a passion for serving others, advanced to AVP Branch Manager before taking on my current role as AVP Regional Manager.

My home branch is in Capitola, and I am grateful to serve a community that I care deeply about. Since 2013, I have been an active member of the Capitola-Soquel Chamber of Commerce, where I enjoy supporting local businesses and helping strengthen our vibrant community.

Outside of work, my husband and I love spending time at the beach with our children and our golden retriever, Cooper. I am passionate about building meaningful relationships, giving back to my community, and making a positive impact wherever I can.

Scott is a retired Public Works Director from the City of Scotts Valley where he enjoyed a 32-year career. He stays active in the community by serving on the Chamber Board as a representative of the Congregational Church of Soquel. Scott also volunteers his time as a baseball coach for Soquel High School, Meals on Wheels delivery driver, planning committee member for A Taste of Soquel and serves on the Board for the Associated Faith Communities (AFC) helping to provide food, shelter and hygiene to our homeless community. In his free time Scott enjoys mountain biking, spending time with family and grand kids, travel and camping.

David Terrazas serves as the Human Resources Manager for Soquel Creek Water District, where he oversees human resources, employee and labor relations, organizational development, workplace safety, and employee engagement. He brings more than two decades of experience in public service, law, and executive leadership. His career includes serving as Mayor and Council member for the City of Santa Cruz, practicing law, and leading employee relations, public policy, and customer service initiatives for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. David holds a Juris Doctor and MBA from Santa Clara University and a bachelor's degree from San José State University. He is committed to supporting local businesses, strengthening community partnerships, and contributing to the economic vitality of the Capitola and Soquel region.
